Can everybody be an affiliate?

Over at Techcrunch there’s an interesting post by Steve Poland proposing that Twitter And Facebook Turn Everyone Into An Affiliate Marketer. Since Amazon has recently offered its associates to be able to share product links via Twitter, the author raises the question whether users of platforms such as Facebook and Twitter will be able to earn a regular income in the future.
